Looking at my calendar, I am planning my next little trip from Kagoshima to Kanagawa, starting in a few days. I have about a week to drive a total of 30 hours.

I am planning to drive the entire way so I can stop by a few places to eat at some of my favorite restaurants scattered around Japan.

Here are the TOP 3 places I’m looking forward to stopping by:

• Fukuoka – Nouko Udon – one of the best textured udons I’ve had, at a great price
• Yamaguchi – Mocchimo Pasta – small pasta chain (about 10 shops scattered throughout Japan) with mochi-textured noodles
• Shizuoka – Sawayaka – another chain shop, only in Shizuoka, serving hamburger steaks on a sizzling platter

I’m keeping this list short, so I have room to try out new places that I find along the way. My brother visiting from Seattle is coming with me on this long drive, so I’m looking forward to showing him around the places I’ve been and going to see new places together.
