Prep Day (2025.01.09)

[Journal]

Today, I dropped off one of my brothers at Kagoshima Airport in morning. He flew back to Haneda and went back home to his apartment in Kanagawa. Before dropping him off we of course had to stop by Joyfull so he can get his fill on the famous 500 yen karaage teishoku.

After saying our farewell, I drove off to the sports center. It was the first time I made it to the gym this year, so I throughly worked out my legs and back. I know, for sure, my muscles will be sore tomorrow.

From the gym, I headed to a cafe in Miyakonojo called Cafe ORIENTE. It was a recommendation by my dad’s acupuncturist. He said that they are known for their pastas, but since I got there past lunch time, they were only serving cakes. I got the carrot cake with a cup of coffee. The carrot cake was soft and warm with chunks of apples, served with a bit of vanilla ice cream and fresh whipped cream. I’ll definitely go back to try their lunch someday.

From there, around 3:00pm, my “prep day” started.

Tomorrow (Friday) three of my dad’s friends will arrive in Kagoshima.

The day after (Saturday) is the shop-building party.

Before leaving the house, I was given a stack of notes with shopping lists for various shops from my dad. It took me a total of about 3 hours to shop through the organic shop, drugstore, liquor shop, and two supermarkets to get all of the items on his list.

Finally I drive home and here I am. I’m going to start prepping a few things in the kitchen so I’ll have less things to worry about tomorrow and the day after, and hopefully I can go to sleep before midnight today.
