Bye-Bye Kagoshima (2025.01.12)

Studio Roku

Last night was the “Shop-Building Party” at Studio Roku.

This month the theme was “絵と音” (drawing & sound.) It is an event that started in Yukotopia, the live house that my parents were running in Tokyo. This month, my dad invited a musician and artist from the Kanto area to come to Kagoshima to recreate this event.

The event was planned to start at 7:00pm and end around 10:30pm, so we were planning to stay for the entirety of it, but things didn’t go as planned and the music and drawing didn’t start until around 10:00pm. We ended up staying until midnight, just long enough to see the two artist participating draw on a drum set and coffin.

We said our goodbyes to everyone and started on our drive up north.

Road Trip Day 1

After a two hour drive, we stopped by a 24 hour onsen called Iwai Onsen Hinokiya in Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto. For just 300 yen, I had the whole women’s side to myself. My brother said the men’s side had just one more person aside from himself taking a bath at 2:00am.

We drove another hour and a half to Roadside Station Ryuhoku in Hikawa, Kumamoto and was able to finally go to sleep around 4:30am.

Tomorrow: Food tour in Fukuoka!
